LEICA – A CENTURY OF VISION (WT)

In 1925, the first serially produced Leica camera was introduced to the public. Due to its small size and its elegant design the camera became the favourite tool in the hands of the best photographers of all times.
The movie takes a brief look at the history of the Leica camera and a deep look into the heart and soul of 35 mm photography. It presents the work of legendary photographers such as Sebastião Salgado, Steve McCurry, Jane Evelyn Atwood, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Ralph Gibson, and Alex Webb, while also following contemporary photographers at work – including JR in Naples, Greg Williams at the Venice Biennale, Ragnar Axelsson in Iceland, and Dominik Nahr in Ukraine.
Each of them reflects on the history of photography, beginning with Leica’s invention of the 35 mm format.
